Type 25

The Type 25 echoes the famous Team Lotus Racing Green and Yellow livery, used prior to the era of commercial sponsorship. Most famously, the Lotus-Climax Type 25 Grand Prix car brought Jim Clark his first F1 World Championship in 1963, winning a then record breaking 7 Grands Prix in that year. Part of its technical innovation was the introduction of a monocoque chassis for the first time in F1, now standard practice in Grand Prix cars. The monocoque chassis is of course also a design characteristic shared by the Lotus Elise.

Like the famous Lotus Type 25 Grand Prix car, the seats of the Elise Type 25 are trimmed in perforated Red Leather with matching door panels and Red Leather steering wheel centre.

This combination correctly reflects the famous Team Lotus racing livery used during the sixties. All cars will be built with air-conditioning and equipped with the stylish new Elise hard top, as well as a black soft top, which is included in the standard price.

Jim Clark was Lotus F1 Team's celebrated driver in the 1960's taken home the championship in 1963 and 1965. Jim Clark can be seen as one of the most talented drivers of all time, winning a third of all the races he entered and the first Briton to win the Indianapolis 500.
