Yokohama S.Drive

Yokohama A048 LTS  
Lotus has launched a Yokohama tyre which has been jointly developed for road and track use. It is a heavy cut slick tyre and it looks excellent and provides excellent grip in the dry when the optimal temperature is reached. Wet weather performance is debatable and these are not generally recommended for every day road use since it is hard to get them up to temperature.

Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD07  
The ADVAN Neova AD07 is designed to provide high levels of traction, responsive handling and driving control in dry and wet road conditions. The ADVAN Neova AD07 is not intended to be driven in cold temperatures or in snow.

The ADVAN Neova AD07 molds a "fine particle" Micro Silica (MS) tread compound (to provide greater road surface adhesion) into a directional tread pattern that features massive tread blocks with rounded edges to increase cornering stability and steering response while promoting more even wear. Five large circumferential and multiple directionally aligned lateral grooves resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. The tire's structure includes two wide steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon to provide strength and uniform ride quality and high-speed capability while the sidewalls are tuned to resist lateral deflection providing handling control and cornering stability.

Toyo Proxes T1-R 
Toyo Proxes tyres suitable for the Lotus Elise, Exige, 111R and Circuit Car. The Proxes T1-R uses a special tread pattern and performance compound that delivers superb road holding in all conditions. The v-shaped grooves in the tread disperse water away from the tyre, allowing the rubber to grip to the road. These are surrounded by grooves around the circumference of the tyre which alloy the T1-R to provide even better wet grip while remaning quieter. The design incorporates and attractive sidewall pattern that makes the tyre looks as good as it performs.

The Toyo Proxes R888 is an alternative for the Yokohama AO48.
In competition, the R888’s improvements in casing design and the new V-shaped tread pattern improve dry performance. The advanced tire compound excels in dry track environments and will stay sticky throughout the entire life of the tire.

Bridgestone RE040  
The Bridgestone Potenza RE040 is one of the main stays of the Bridgestone tyre range. It is original equipment on many cars including Audi, BMW, Nissan and Toyota. It has been designed to work in harmony with many of the world’s best sports coupes. This means that the tyre has been produced to provide excellent levels of grip in both wet and dry conditions. 

However the tyre also provides good levels of comfort as would be expected by some of the most famous marques in the world. The directional tread pattern on the tyre offers good stability via the large central circumferential band. Also the large tread blocks and lateral grooves work together to improve the water dispersal, helping the tyre to minimize the risk of aquaplaning in the wet.. The Bridgestone RE040 competes very well with competitors in this sector, e.g. The Pirelli P6000, also a directional tyre. Overall the Bridgestone RE040 provides an excellent all round performance.

Dunlop SP 9000 
This tyre is everything it needed to be to bring Dunlop tyres back to the ever expanding performance tyre market. Hugely different to look at, with a tyre tread pattern in a similar style to the Goodyear GSD3 but more elegant in design. This tyre also uses a totally new silica compound. Creative and daring construction and a completely new tyre tread design tell us this is a new generation of Dunlop tyre. The Dunlop SP9000 tyre has good wet and dry handling, much better general handling and shorter braking distances
